The TIES Conference is all about changing pedagogy through the use of technology. During this conference, there will be around 240 breakout sessions and 50 preconference workshops. These days are about collaborating and networking with educators from all over the states and beyond.

Strands:
1. Digital - Age Learners: How can students use technology to learn in transformative ways?
Breakout sessions will include academic content areas technology integration, emerging
technologies, 21st - Century learners and learning environments, and mobile devices and mobile
learning.
2. Professional Growth and Leadership: How can educators use digital tools to transform
pedagogy? What is the impact of technology on professional practice?
Breakout sessions will include leadership, vision, and data - informed decision making, and
professional development.
3. Responsible Digital - Age Citizens: How to we move from "Acceptable Use" to "Responsible
Use?"
Breakout session is on developing responsible digital-age citizens.
4. Technical Support and Infrastructure: How are we going to effectively and efficiently support
increased infrastructure demand with less resources?
Breakout sessions will be about technical support best practices.
Featured Speakers:
| Monday’s Keynote Speakers: Simon Sinek (9:00 - 10:15) - visionary thinker, author, and teacher. Sinek’s unconventional ways and views on leadership and buisness have been sought out by major companies throughout the US. He has discovered patterns of thinking and communicating that bread success. | Tuesday’s Keynote Speakers: Tony Wagner (9:00 - 10:15) - author and expert on innovation. Wagner was Harvard’s first Innovation Education Fellow at Harvard. He has taught K-8, 12 years in the high school setting, and a university professor. Sal Khan (lunch) - founder of Khan academy. Khan began Khan Academy in 2004 after interest in his tutorials became big. He has degrees from MIT and Harvard and is changing the face of classrooms all over the world. |
